ENSURE were commissioned by a Planning consultancy to review and assess the range of technical development constraints affecting the use of the former Rushenden Marshes Dredging Disposal Area.
As the team had previously been instrumental in gaining consent for the recovery of 2ndary marine aggregates from the site, we had prior and specialist knowledge of the technical issues the site presented. Our review looked at the site history and the specific concerns relating to climate change impacts of accelerated erosion and flood risk, taking account of the EA policy for managed retreat of the flood defences on the Swale.
